Statistical Process Control

The Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a methodology that, according to a specific process, stages, operation or activity in which elements of repetitiveness can be identified, uses technical statistics to analyze and check the conditions that determine the variability of the object of analysis.

The goal, in the use of SPC techniques, is to give the company adequate tools aimed at improving the quality of products and services offered by eliminating mistakes and discrepancies   because of rework, unnecessary controls and therefore delays in the processing cycles.

The SPC methodology allows to find whether the conditions under which the process is carried out have been changed: this allows an organization to make proper rectifications before set specifications and variations will be exceeded, in order to prevent possible non-conformity situations.

The SPC can turn out to be a valid management tool which, starting from an analysis thorough a company’s processes and their control, leads to a better knowledge of the processes. Therefore it can be effectively inserted in the context in which a Quality Management System operates towards the continuous improvement of performance.
